The ongoing introduction of new manufacturing technology and process improvements have enabled us to boost production efficiency and minimize product rejection rates. Over the past 15 years, Shanghai Optics has consistently maintained a product rejection ratio of less than 1%. Our ultimate goal is to transform our customers’ visions into reality in the most cost-effective and timely manner possible. Leveraging 20 years of optical prototyping experience, we employ in-house advanced manufacturing and testing equipment to ensure timely project completion.

Prototype Capabilities for Mass Production

Shanghai Optics is a leading manufacturer of high-precision optical components. Utilizing ultra-high precision optical manufacturing methods, we produce up to 400 diverse types of high-precision test plates annually. Our extensive inventory of over 4000 test plates enables us to rapidly design, manufacture, and deliver optical components.

In recent years, we have adopted advanced manufacturing equipment, including single-point diamond turning machines, CNC machines, and industrial-grade 3D printers, to produce complex optical components, mechanical parts, and tools. Our in-house manufacturing and testing capabilities enable our customers to efficiently complete their high-end lens prototypes with aspherical surfaces.

During prototyping, Shanghai Optics conducts rigorous quantitative and qualitative tests on every component and assembly. To reduce production time and cost for mass production applications, Shanghai Optics employs precision glass molding alongside high-speed polishing techniques. The introduction of high-speed super specifically engineered for producing high-quality optical components. We employ advanced precision molding techniques and a variety of glass types (Schott, Ohara, and CDGM) to create high-quality molded lenses that meet our customers’ unique needs. Typically, the lead time for lenses ranging from 10 to 50 mm in size is 3 to 4 weeks. Our capabilities extend to producing lenses with diameters up to 1000mm.
